  1. {thanks for that.
    GS is a bit hard to understand. Maybe Spanish with the choppy syllables spreads flu
    better than English (i.e. Spanish flu and Mexican flu ) – has it been examined ? }

    will it replace oldflu
    protection for 1/2 year (or 1.5 years) {but waves typically take 10 weeks ?!}
    cellular immunity
    antigenic sin 13:30 , plays no major role

    different subtype with antisera ? 15:55 {but similar to swine H1 which comes from 1918}

    >65y protected ,
    H1 in pigs is antigenically more stable than in humans

    20:50 Gibbs
    {Gibbs discusses here: http://fluboard.rhizalabs.com/forum/viewtopic.p
    {where discusses GS ?}}
    22:30 reassorted in humans ?
    {smoking pig analysis: http://www.setbb.com/fluwiki2/viewtopic.php?t=1
    this pig probably doesn't descend from the original mexflu}

    not more virulent in children than oldflu
    {but papers give a much higher CFR}

    R. mentions Ukraine wrt. D225G(H3) !
    225G doesn't spread , {spread of mixed viruses, 225D and 225G ?}

    35:08 PB1-F2 {test the effect in mallards {waterborne transmission}, please}

    surprised by H1 being the pandemic , not surprised by swine initiating the pandemic

    1976 vaccine study underway

    we need better vax for older people

    3 shots per life, universal vaccine
    cross protection , some regions in HA conserved in all HA

    {but how will the antibodies detect them when the virus hides them,
    doesn't work for seasonal flu, same serotype}
